Sketches For Final Piece

For Limbo, I plan to draw multiple people in the scene who are faceless as they have been lost there for so long they have forgotten who they are in a forset-like scenery surrounding them.

Lust I want to draw illustrative wind like you would see on greek paintings and pottery with people fighting against the wind and be pushed back by it in a forset scenery again.

When thinking about what is described in Dantes's Inferno for gluttony and the punishment all I could think of is how your skin prone and goes rubber-like when wet and in the water for a long period of time. I thought the skin would be so wet that it would pull and slide off creating sores and piles of skin. When sketching this out I used a character from doom patrol called Rita Farr to help draw the texture I needed the skin to be like.

When Sketching out my plan for greed I wanted to make sure the center of this scene was the hole that the souls have to carry and through boulders into it as this is the heart of the punishment. I tried my best to put the people into positions that look strained and would be how someone might carry a heavy object.

I have struggled with wrathful and the anatomy of people especially in a body of water I may tweak this before my final piece but this is where I am at with that.

I enjoyed planning Hersey it was different and involved more fire and people in tombs however I got the legs submerged confused with this and fraud so I will have to correct that before my final.

After hersery each circle gets more complex and has multiple punishments happening like violence punishes those who committed suicide by turning them into trees slowly.

Fraud has a lot more happening in it depending on what kind of fraud a person committed affects the punishment such as being eaten by snakes, wiped by demons, left at the bottom of a cliff, and being submerged underground with fire only allowing your legs to stick out. So I have tried my best to fit this all in one illustration.

Lastly, I experimented with Copic markers and skin for gluttony people and I think I will stick with my plan to use watercolor.
